Ontario Athletic Therapists are well-trained allied healthcare professionals with a well-defined scope of practice focused on the prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries and concussions
1. To become an athletic therapist in Ontario, you need a bachelor's degree in sport therapy or a degree in health sciences with a specialization in sports injury management
2. The Ontario Athletic Therapist Association (OATA) is an independently incorporated, not-for-profit organization that provides leadership and support to the Athletic Therapists practising and studying in Ontario

Meagan grew up in Port Hope, ON and was involved in the Port Hope/Cobourg hockey community. Her passion for hockey and athletics is what led her to pursue her Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences – Athletic Therapy at Sheridan College. Meagan’s current practice uses a combination of manual therapy techniques, education, and exercises tailored to the individuals’ specific needs/goals. She works with individuals to develop a comprehensive treatment plan that address the primary concerns, prevention of injury/re-injury, and enhancement of personal performance; all while working towards getting the individual back to the activities they enjoy! The ideal patient for Meagan would be those who are involved in their recovery process, as a great educator and motivator, Meagan is able to provide the support and encouragement to reach your rehabilitation goals! Outside of the clinic, you can find Meagan enjoying time spent with family and friends, hiking trails, and enjoying a nice cup of coffee at a local café! Over the years Dyan has taken numerous continuing education courses and programs to help her become the therapist she is today.
